Diageo Reserve Virtual Space
Cinema 4D for the 3D design and modeling.
Corona Render for rendering the fly-through of the Main Virtual Space.
Unreal Engine for rendering the fly-through of The Gallery.

Agency: RPM

This was an interactive virtual event to showcase Diageo Reserve’s new strategic event under the banner of Destination: Reserve.
I joined the project when it had been through its first phase of design and build.

My first task was to redesign the central sculpture so that it had a purpose in the space. I designed it to spiral down from the ceiling out to the 11 brand pods that circled the bar, and also hold the barrel screens.

The space went through the design process, evolving elements, but with scene optimisation being essential… it had to be as streamlined and lightweight as possible

This process included liaising with the company that created the virtual space software, importing the 3D models into their platform, and a technical process of bringing it all together. I rendered a camera animation of the space with Corona Render.

The other part of the job was to create a gallery. I rendered this in Unreal Engine with the baked lighting technique.

Finally, purely for the purpose of furthering my knowledge of Unreal Engine, I brought the main space into UE as well, to essentially create a ‘game’ environment that you could walk around in. I added sun position and time controls using UE’s blueprints.
